While my music remains on Spotify for availability purposes, I do not actively support that platform for two main reasons: The first one is because they no longer give royalties for tracks that get less than 1000 streams per year. While this helps reduce the amount of spam content such as AI-generated music, 60 seconds noise tracks as well as other content aimed at gaming the system, this also hurts legitimate content from independent artists. Imagine for example if I had 999 streams on each of my tracks. Even if the total would be over 300,000 streams I'd never see any royalty from it because I came 1 stream short on each track.
The second reason is because of recent reports about Spotify allegedly loading playlists with their own tracks (as well as AI-generated ones) using fake artist accounts so that fewer listens and royalties get to legitimate artists. As a result the Spotify links are less visible on my profile, but I keep my music there for convenience because I want you fans to be able to listen to my music where you want.
If you are a band, music producer or musician and are looking for places to monetize your music, then I recommend
Ampwall,
Bandcamp or
Mirlo. There are more alternatives that can be accessed on my website through my music links as well, but I would say that Ampwall, Bandcamp and Mirlo are my favorite. When it comes to streaming-only solutions I recommend
TIDAL.
